Born in Salem, New Jersey, on August 13, 1993, Gaudreau played college hockey at Boston College before being drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2011. He debuted in the NHL in 2014 and spent nine seasons with the Flames before signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022.
