Linda McMahon is an American business executive and politician best known for co-founding WWE. She has served as U.S. Small Business Administration administrator and, since March 2025, as Secretary of Education.

Who is Linda McMahon

Born in New Bern, North Carolina, in 1948, Linda McMahon attended East Carolina University. She is a Republican and married to Vince McMahon. Her career moved from entertainment to public service, including two U.S. Senate runs in Connecticut.

Business career

With her husband Vince, she co-founded Titan Sports in 1980, later renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She served as president from 1993 to 2000 and CEO from 1997 to 2009, helping transform WWE from a regional operation into a publicly traded global company.

Political career

McMahon served as the 25th Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration from 2017 to 2019. On March 3, 2025, she was sworn in as the 13th U.S. Secretary of Education. She also ran as the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut in 2010 and 2012.
