Early life and rise to fame

Liam Payne was born in Wolverhampton, England in 1993. He first auditioned for The X Factor in 2008 and reauditioned in 2010, when he was placed into a group that became One Direction.

One Direction

One Direction became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Payne was a member alongside Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. He co-wrote many of the group's songs, including "History," "Steal My Girl," and "Story of My Life."

Solo career and death

After One Direction's hiatus, Payne released solo music beginning with "Strip That Down" in 2017, followed by the album LP1 in 2019. He died in Buenos Aires on 16 October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony.
