The Ferrari 458 is a mid-engine V8 sports car series produced from 2010 to 2015. It is widely noted as Ferrari’s last naturally aspirated V8 model before the brand shifted to turbocharged engines.

History

The Ferrari 458 was unveiled in 2009 as the successor to the F430. Production ran until 2015, after which the Ferrari 488 took over as Ferrari’s mid-engine V8 lineup.

Design and engineering

The 458 introduced a naturally aspirated direct-injection V8 and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It was a rear-wheel-drive mid-engine sports car.

Variants

Main road versions include the 458 Italia coupe, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale (coupe), and 458 Speciale A (spider). Ferrari also produced racing versions such as the 458 Challenge and 458 GT3.
